Vidya Balan is all set to play the lead role in a Hindi movie titled Dirty Picture. Well, whats special about this Hindi movie? It's a bio-pic on South Indian glamdoll Silk Smitha.
Born as Vijayalakshmi in Andhra Pradesh. Smitha dropped out from school after class four due to financial constraints. She was star-struck when she was a child and always intended to do something connected to films. So, she came to live with her aunt in Madras and took up a job of a 'touch-up' girl. The dusky actress with seductive looks started her career in Vandichakkaram. Then went on to do glamour actress for over two decades. Mystery shred's her death as she ended her life by committing suicide.
With Vidya Balan playing the lead role that of Silk Smitha, expectations has ran high. She reportedly watched films of Silk Smitha and immitated her on screen. On shooting for the movie, Vidyabalan, says, 'she is one of the great actresses. Her eyes are seductive. She is not just a glamorous actress but one who can perform'.
Vidya Balan has even tried wearing tight costumes. She says that she was all thrilled being part of the bio-pic.
