Reports now emerge that it was Amitabh Bachchan, a close friend of Rajnikanth, who was constantly in touch with his wife Latha and the doctors and suggested Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore for Rajni’s treatment of renal failure.
A source close to Rajinikanth’s family confirms. 'Rajini has been diagnosed with renal failure leading to kidney complications. His family is indebted to Amitabh Bachchan for recommending the treatment in Singapore.'
Confirming the news, Amitabh said, 'I’ve been talking regularly to Rajini and his wife, Latha, on his condition and on his welfare. Latha wanted to take him out and asked me to recommend a destination. Of the many options that came up, I suggested Singapore.'
'He’s so down-toearth! How he remains that way with the kind of fan following, is a mystery. And his wife has been a wonderful support. She has brought up their children so well. We discuss issues with each other.'
