Famous painter MF Hussain dies

Controversial and famous painter MF Hussain died in London this morning. His was 95 years old. Maqbool Fida Husain has painted many controversial paintings which lead to eight legal cases and death threats in India. He was on a self imposed exile from 2006.

MF Hussain was offered citizenship of Qatar in 2010 for which he accepted. His nude paintings of Hindu deities courted controversy in 1996 and he became an enemy for many Hindus because of his anti-Hindu paintings.

Forbes magazine gave MF Hussain the title of ‘Picasso of India’. He was a special invitee along with Pablo Picasso at the Sao Paulo Biennial in 1971. Although he passed away his paintings would be eternal.
